Summer Book Haul

So, I accumulated quite a bit of books during the summer, but not everything was bought! Some were given to me, so it's alright. (That's me trying to comfort myself for buying so many books.)

As you can see, I went crazy with Cassandra Clare books because the series is done and I want to marathon it sometime soon. I bought all of these from the Barnes and Noble site.
1. The Demigod Diaries by Rick Riordan
2. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
3. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
4. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
5. City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
6. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
7. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

I bought these three books from the library, like the ones for donation and stuff.
1. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
2. Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood (I know this book is called something else, but this is the movie tie-in)
3. Angels & Demons by Dan Brown

These books were given to me by my friend because he just doesn't have time to go through them.
1. Immortal by Julie Kagawa
2. Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
3. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
4. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
5. Enclave by Ann Aguirre
6. Eon by Alison Goodman
7. Eona by Alison Goodman

So, that's 17 books added to my TBR pile....
I need to stop, honestly.
I know all of you out there are like me too though!
What did you recently buy? Tell me in the comments below!

Bout of Books 11.0 | TBR

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

My To Be Read for this read-a-thon:

1. The Black Circle by Patrick Carman I am actually taking a break from this series this weekend but I want to pick it up during the read-a-thon.
2. The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan I am finally going to get my Percy Jackson kick! It has been awhile and I've been feeling deprived. So ready.
3. The Necromancer by Michael Scott I also took a break from this book, but I want to continue this and finish before I leave for vacation in December.
4. Prime Deception by Carys Jones This was sent to me by the author in exchange for a review, and I've been putting this off for awhile now.
5. Eon by Alison Goodman My friend read this book and she liked it. I've never any Chinese books before but I am really, really curious.
6. Eona by Alison Goodman I am reading this book, along with Eon, to check off my goal for a starting and finish a series during the read-a-thon.

This is an indefinite TBR it might change along the way, but I will try to stick to it and finish all of them. Also I don't know which order I want to read these books, because I do have school during the week, so I have to make sure I don't carry a lot of stuff and most of these books are pretty big.

Friday Memes | The Friday 56 and Book Beginning of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

The Friday 56 is hosted over at Freda's Voice! While the Book Beginning is hosted over at Rose City Reader. So, go check both of them out if you need more information.
The rules of The Friday 56 are very simple:
- Grab a book, any book.
- Turn to page 56 or 56% if you are reading from an e-reader.
- Find any sentence or sentences that grab you then post them.
- Make sure to add your post url to the page which is at Freda's Voice, so all of the participants can see!
Book Beginnings:
Share the first sentence, or so, of the book you are currently reading. Share your thoughts and don't forget to also add your post url at Rose City Reader's page!

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

So, I decided to take a break from the 39 Clues before the Bout of Books, and I recently just borrowed this from the library. So, is anyone joining Bout of Books 11.0? Tell me in the comments below!

The Book Beginning
"So in order to understand everything that happened, you have to start from the premise that high school sucks. Do you accept that premise? Of course you do. It is a universally acknowledged truth that high school sucks. In fact, high school is where we are first introduced to the basic existential question of life: How is it possible to exist in a place that sucks so bad?"

The Friday 56
"I'm smart in some ways - pretty good vocabulary, solid at math - but I am definitely the stupidest smart person there is."

These snippets are SO me. I am only actually on the second chapter and I am loving it.
Has anyone read this before? What'd you think of it?

Harry Potter Moment of the Week #10 | If You Could Be A Character, Who Would You Be?

This is a weekly meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts. Check her out for more information about the meme.

If You Could Be A Character, Who Would You Be?

Hermione, hands down. I need her brain, her wit, her everything. I need, need, need them, especially right now, what with school and everything. I just don't know how she does it, tackling so much courses yet still being the most brightest in her grade. And, also on top of those, helping others, being humble and loyal, and just being good.

“I’ve learned all the course books by heart of course. I just hope it will be enough – I’m Hermione Granger, by the way, who are you?” - Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

What do y'all think? Who are your picks? Tell me in the comments below!

WWW Wednesdays #8

This weekly meme is hosted over at Should Be Reading! Go check it out for more information and if you want to see other memes you want to try out and other participants.
All you have to do is answer three questions:
1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you'll read next?

Here are my answers!

1. What are you currently reading?
I am so ready for this fourth book, been ready for the past two weeks. I think I'm going to get more reading done for Harry Potter this week though, so yay!

2. What did you recently finish reading?
I finally finished a book!

3. What do you think you'll read next?
This is a book a I received in exchange for an honest review. I want to read this soon so I can get a review up for you guys!

Top Five Wednesdays #9 | Top Love Triangles

Top 5 Wednesdays is created by Gingerreadslainey and click here for complete list of participants for this meme. Go check 'em out!

5. Bella, Edward & Jacob from the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer This is the epitome of love triangles, and I feel like Bella and Edward deserved each other and Jake just had to accept it.
4. Luce, Daniel & Cameron from the Fallen Series by Lauren Kate I was with Cam all the way in this one. I didn't read the last book but I know what happens, a little, and it's okay I guess. What I love about this triangle though is the bad guy vs. good, really infuriating guy.
3. Belly, Jeremiah & Conrad from the Summer Series by Jenny Han I don't remember when I read this book and I don't know who I was rooting for, but I liked Belly a lot and her character was really relatable.
2. Clary, Jace & Simon from The Mortal Instruments Series I don't care what anyone says but Simon is mine, I don't care about Clary or whoever.
1. Katniss, Peeta & Gale from the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins The hype around this series is really deserving. What a roller coaster, especially for these three. And, ahhhhh I just can't.

So, what do you think? Tell me in the comments below!

Bout of Books 11.0 | Goals and TBR Choices

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
- From the Bout of Books team

So, we have two weeks 'til the Bout of Books and I am pumped! I have a few goals for myself and I really, really want to do all of them, so here they are:

1. Start and finish a series.
2. Participate in at least 3 challenges. Here is the schedule throughout the read-a-thon.
3. Participate in a Twitter chat.
3. Daily updates here on my blog.
4. Reduce my TBR pile, meaning read at least 3 books. So, I need to read, read, read.

Time I am Devoting to Reading: 3 hours a day at least. I do have school during the weekdays of the read-a-thon, and I have a lot of hard courses. So, I definitely need to up my game.

TBR Choices:

So, I think I'm only going to pick maybe 4-5 books, depending on the lengths of the books. Help me, please. So much good books, yet so little time. My TBR will be posted on Friday, so look out for that!
What do you think I should read? Which books are in your TBR pile for the read-a-thon?

Top Ten Tuesdays #9 | Books I'm Not Sure I Want To Read

This weekly meme is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. Go check them out and don't forget to add your blog post's link so everyone can see your top ten, if you do decide to join!

10. Caster Chronicle Series by Kami Gracia and Margaret Stohl
9. The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
 8. Pretty Little Liars Series (6th book and the next ones)  by Sara Shepard
7. Uglies Series by Scott Westerfield
6.Cormoran Strike Series by Robert Galbraith
5. Gone Series by Michael Grant
4. The Summer Series by Jenny Han
5. The Host by Stephenie Meyer
2. The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer L. Smith
1. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

So, I've heard so much good things about these books and series, but I just don't know if I want to read them, mainly for two reasons; the story line is just not my thing and that it is way over hyped.
What do y'all think? Should I read any of these books? Tell me in the comments below!
