Friday Memes | The Friday 56 & Book Beginnings #5

The Friday 56 is hosted over at Freda's Voice! While the Book Beginning is hosted over at Rose City Reader. So, go check both of them out if you need more information.
The rules of The Friday 56 are very simple:
- Grab a book, any book.
- Turn to page 56 or 56% if you are reading from an e-reader.
- Find any sentence or sentences that grab you then post them.
- Make sure to add your post url to the page which is at Freda's Voice, so all of the participants can see!
Book Beginnings:
Share the first sentence, or so, of the book you are currently reading. Share your thoughts and don't forget to also add your post url at Rose City Reader's page!

One False Note by Gordon Korman

This is the second book in the 39 Clues series. It follows Amy and Dan after they found the next clue in Paris.

Book Beginnings

"The hunger strike began two hours east of Paris."

The Friday 56

"'Calm down,' Amy told him. 'The real clue isn't the diary; it's the music. And we're the only ones who have that. Let's take it down to the lobby. I saw a piano there.'"

I really, really want to finish this series and so far it's been alright. I'm not one for middle grade series outside Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series, but this one's okay.
So, what do you all think? Tell me in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe!

  1. I'm not much for middle-grade series either, but this does sound like a good one. I'm curious about the hunger strike.
Here's the link to my Friday post: SIX MONTHS IN MONTANA.

  2. This sounds interesting. I have enjoyed some middle grade but it has to be amazing or have some kind of magical draw. This one definitely has potential but sorry you're not loving it.
